Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing global category and commodity strategies that drive competitive advantages, mitigate supply risk, improve total cost of ownership, and support business growth initiatives.This role serves as the strategic leader for assigned commodities and suppliers, partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Regulatory and R&D to align sourcing strategies with enterprise objectives.The role requires deep market intelligence research abilities, supplier relationship management, negotiation expertise, and executive-level influence to optimize supply continuity, innovation, sustainability, regulatory compliance and financial performance across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute multi-year global commodities and category strategies aligned with business objectives, product roadmaps, and supply chain resilience initiatives.

Own annual productivity, cost savings, inflation mitigation, and working capital improvement targets for assigned commodities.

Apply total cost of ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, and benchmarking methodologies to identify value creation opportunities.

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives supporting new product introductions (NPI), sustaining engineering, and operational excellence initiatives.

Develop strategic supplier partnerships and executive supplier relationships that drive innovation, quality improvement, supply continuity, and operational excellence.

Lead supplier segmentation, supplier performance management, and supplier development activities for critical and strategic suppliers.

Monitor global market trends, geopolitical risks, commodity market indexes, cost drivers, and supply-demand dynamics to proactively adjust sourcing strategies and mitigate business risk.

Partner with Engineering, Tech. Ops, Operations, Quality, Regulatory and Finance teams early in product development cycles to influence design-for-cost, supplier selection, and long-term sourcing strategies.

Present category strategies, supply market intelligence, savings initiatives, and supplier risk assessments to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Support supplier sustainability, responsible sourcing, and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.

Develop and execute risk mitigation and business continuity plans for critical suppliers and commodities.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing continues improvement tools, and data-driven decision-making methodologies.
Your qualifications
Required:
-
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management experience in a global manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide category strategies and cross-functional sourcing initiatives.

Strong analytical capabilities including spend analysis, cost modeling, and supplier performance management.

Experience influencing business decisions through executive stakeholder engagement and leadership without authority.

Experience working with SAP ERP systems (including procurement, materials management, and supplier operations modules) with demonstrated ability to leverage ERP data for sourcing, spend analysis, supplier management, and operational decision-making.

Position will be based in Alpharetta and and expected to work in the office Tuesday – Thursday.
Preferred:
-
CPSM, CPM, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Medical device or highly regulated manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.

Advanced knowledge of category management methodology, cost modeling, and global supply risk management.

Bachelor or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
