Payroll & HR Operations Specialist – EMEA

Are you passionate about payroll accuracy and HR excellence? We're looking for a detail-driven professional to take ownership of payroll and employee data for our EMEA region, playing a key role in supporting management with reliable, compliant HR insights.

What you'll do

• Prepare, run, and verify monthly payroll in close collaboration with our social secretariat (6 EU-based legal entities).
• Keep employee records and HR system data accurate, up to date, and audit-ready
• Ensure full compliance with Belgian labor and tax regulations
• Be the go-to person for employees on payroll and benefits questions
• Manage insurance and benefits administration — affiliations, de-registrations, changes, and provider communication
• Build and maintain HR reports that give management clear visibility (headcount, absenteeism, overtime, and more)
• Help drive process improvements and data quality across HR operations
• Liaise with external partners such as social security, tax authorities, and insurance providers
• Partner closely with the HR Operations Manager on a variety of strategic HR projects

What you bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in payroll management and broader HR operations
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and Belgian labor law; experience with other EMEA countries is a real plus
• Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll tools (SAP HR, Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar)
• A rigorous, autonomous, and proactive mindset with a sharp eye for detail
• Fluency in English and Dutch (spoken and written); additional European languages are a strong asset

Compensation & transparency

This role sits within our structured job architecture and compensation framework, in line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive. It is graded at Level 12 within the AVANOS job grading system — a grading determined through objective, gender-neutral criteria covering scope of responsibility, required qualifications, and role complexity and impact, ensuring internal equity across the organization.
