Job Position Purpose / Summary

Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) is to lead market expansion efforts and strategy in specific markets & channels of Central Asia, including both the Pain Management & Recovery (PM&R) and Specialty Nutrition Systems (SNS) product portfolios at Avanos. 

BDM will play a pivotal role in identifying business opportunities, building strong relationships with distributors, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth in both the PM&R and SNS sectors. BDM’s mission of improving patient outcomes by bringing innovative solutions to healthcare providers across Central Asia.

Job Position Accountabilities / Expectations

Will be responsible for leading and building the Avanos business in specific markets & channels of Southeast Asia and North Asia (Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong). The portfolio is expected to grow steadily in the 5-year horizon and be a significant contributor to maintaining and growing Avanos profitability within the region.

Responsibility Area: 

•    PLANNING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Develop a strategic business plan for each business to achieve short and long-term growth and market leading positions in the market.

Establish a clear leadership position in key market segments through distributor and customer insights that identify significant gaps and lead to developing solutions to these need gaps that are differentiable, protectable and offer a sustainable competitive advantage.

Development of the annual sales and marketing plan including a comprehensive business assessment, defining strategic imperatives and outline an executable sales and marketing tactical plan to achieve the annual budget, with quarterly business reviews.

 

 

•    SALES AND MARKETING OPERATIONS
Achieve and exceed regional sales and financial budget and operational objectives.
Drive growth on strategic focus products via increasing brand awareness and customer loyalty to Avanos products.

Responsible for Sales Budgeting and Forecasting, including regional OPEX Planning.

Closely monitor and gather competitor and market intelligence (e.g. market trends, market/product share, pricings, clinical practice, procedural knowledge, customer insights)

Support identification of key growth opportunities, develop and execute innovative programs to drive growth and margin improvement associated with the product portfolio.

Lead commercial, marketing, distributor and customer events and campaigns.

Partner with Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance (RAQA), Regional Marketing teams, Legal and Finance on product launch plan and managing product life cycle.

•    DISTRIBUTOR / KOL KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT

Develop and prepare presentation materials and marketing tools, e.g. product presentations, business plan reviews, customer presentations, sales conference presentations, and induction trainings.

Organize and conduct product trainings to direct customers and distributors, not limited to educational and clinical workshops.

•    CASE SUPPORT / DEVELOPMENT OF KOL

Responsible for the quality of support to all cases in Singapore and Distributor Markets.
Support Clinical Sales and Business Development Associates within the region.

EXTERNAL: Clinicians, Hospital Customers, Distributors, Industry Groups

Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills Required

•    Minimum of 9 years of commercial sales and clinical experience in medical device industry.
•    Knowledge of PM&R and SNS products categories in the healthcare market would be highly desirable. 
•    Experience creating clinical acceptance and driving adoption of new treatments, therapies, technologies.
•    Working experience with MNC’s and ability to navigate APAC and global stakeholders, and leverage resources and support for the Central Asia business.
•    Highly resilient, with a personal style that thrives under the pressure to meet financial targets, quarter to quarter. 
•    Business, medical or science qualification would be desirable, with history of continual professional development.
